DAY 39 | Shutting Down the Computer After Work

I’m a website developer, so I work on a computer all day almost every single day.

I spend my fair share of electricity usage for sure. And a habit I’ve been doing for quite some time is not shutting down my computer. Like ever.

The only time my computer shuts down is when it dies. Which is very wasteful on my part. Even when your computer is sleeping it is still consuming energy and still wasting the battery.

And of course when the battery dies faster you have to plug it back in to charge more often. Thus wasting electricity.

Now I’ve already put everything on energy saving mode but that’s just not enough when I’m letting my computer go 10 to 16 hours sleeping and silently consuming energy.

So my change today is shutting my computer completely down when I sign off.
