Oh, hooray!! I was so worried that the Final Post was literally all we’d see of you, despite your promises…I’m glad to see you updating again!
March 10, 2008 at 6:40 pm
I am so glad you put this up. I remember when we were all foisting our ideas for your move on you. This was so encouraging. What a great idea you (and all of us had).
March 10, 2008 at 11:33 pm
Very cool. And many thanks for not skinning me! I made a very common human error- I projected my own reactions on everyone else- I can’t imagine NOT showing up for the fun moving party, if I lived anywhere near Toronto. Why you didn’t have 200 big brawny guys there to help out, I do NOT understand. Sigh.
I was astonished to see you able to move, in Toronto, in mid winter- with NO snow on the ground. SOMEBODY was on your side!
Do keep plugging us in, once in a while, please. We miss ya.

Cute! That was fun
Wish I could have been there.
Greenpa, head on down to Ottawa for a visit…we just got 53cm this weekend (about 2 feet) for a total of about 410cm this season (about 11 feet). We have a trail to our composter from our back deck that’s about a foot wide and 4 feet deep!
March 11, 2008 at 3:45 am
Wow… some people are actually doing it. Good for you. Certainly inspiring! Although I try to be as green as I can, when I move out of the current place at the end of May, I won’t be able to do green moving. Wish I could but I probably will not. And I still cannot give up on my car.
Cheers.

What a fun video clip, and inspiring too! It’s a great reminder to think outside the box and try new things. And from the looks of things you make the move as fun as a move can be.
March 11, 2008 at 6:36 am
It looks like you guys had some fun. And wow, it’s true, there seemed like very little snow on the ground!
March 11, 2008 at 12:30 pm
Great video Ness! And how HILARIOUS is it that youtube considered ‘Time 2 Move to the Rhythm’ a related video! Ah, that was a good laugh
March 11, 2008 at 1:30 pm
Fantastic video! And you are WAY cute! …don’t worry…I’m a happily married, 34 year-old mother of two…not a stalker…
Congratulations, once again on a truly successful year! I miss your daily posts already!

That’s BRILLIANT, I love this video. I think the bicycle dude deserves a prize, though
March 12, 2008 at 4:47 am
i like you

It is all about the Monster Eye View.
March 12, 2008 at 3:48 pm
That was great, very inspiring. I’m with Greenpa, I don’t know why hordes of people didn’t show up, I’d LOVE to participate in something like that. Maybe it’s better you didn’t have hordes of strangers handling your stuff, though. Like everyone else, I miss your daily posts!
March 13, 2008 at 2:55 am
Loved the monster-cam….very cute. Im completely shocked that you were able to move in the middle of winter in Canada without dealing with snow. You definately picked a good day.
BTW, hope you enjoyed your guacamole!
March 13, 2008 at 2:32 pm
Nice to see it can be done. It was a bit slight on the footage of you moving anything yourself though…. I presume they edited that out
March 13, 2008 at 11:57 pm
what a lovely video!!
March 14, 2008 at 1:07 am
I can’t remember…how did you manage to move your furniture?
March 15, 2008 at 1:49 pm
Have you bought your low-voc paint yet? if you haven’t, there is a brand of CANADIAN recycled paint: it’s called boomerang, it’s made in Quebec, and it should be available at Rona. There isn’t a huge selection of colours, but they are nice, and you ‘d be doing two good deeds at once. And when you’re done painting, you can bring the leftovers back to Rona to be recycled again (I’m not sure they do this outside of Quebec, but I’m pretty sure Rona has commited to spreading this feature across Canada).
The paint goes on really nicely, has good coverage, and it doesn’t have that sweaty sock smell of regular paint.

Thanks for sharing the video! Please don’t disappear on us.
I just found this cool petition to google to provide bike routes in addition to driving and public transportation directions. Check it out and pass it along please.

About the boomerang paint… I used to work at the Rona in Hanover, and yes, they do have it outside of QC
I’m guessing that if Hanover’s little Rona carries it, the big Toronto stores will too.

That’s sweet. Good job. Thanks for sharing.
March 19, 2008 at 12:08 am
Well done! And ‘welcome back’

You have a great and interesting journey that you have set your self. Your actions have a lot of enthusiasm to inspire someone to do the same thing. It is a great idea that I think a lot of people are following. The different actions you have done are some of ways that can help our environment change. It would be great if people like me try doing something to help our environment. You are a great example that shows if we really put our minds to something we can achieve it. A got a lot of different ideas from your blogs that I will try to follow. Your actions and ideas are connecting a lot of people to see how we can improve our world by doing little actions. Your goal is involving a lot of people to learn information that they can use at home or spread to others. Little positive actions can have huge positive results.

Here is an idea that you can do. Spread word that on May 18th is No Driving Day. Let’s all help the environment by putting our cars away for a day.
One man is trying to get the world to follow

its great how much effort you have put to save the environment…keep the good work…
April 6, 2008 at 5:33 pm
I really applaud you on your commitment during last year’s journey. You have proved that we, individuals, can change our daily activities and protect our environment. I have no doubt that during the last years you had inspired lots of people, you should be happy about that.
Keep up the good work!!!

What a great blog but why don’t we hear anything from you anymore? What are you up to? For every body else reading this, I’ve heard about another nice environmental initiative wherein I think you might be all interested. It’s the website http://www.floraqueen.com and during May they plant 5 trees for every gift you buy to celebrate mother’s day. This way you make not only your own mother happy, but also Mother Nature.

This is such a fantastic idea. Bravo to you for taking a stand. Its so great to see that even though “going green” is not always the easiest way to get things done it is definitely the best. Everyone on college campus’ should do this because most of the time they are not moving very far. Thanks for the effort and the great idea!

Good work on the move! Your committment to living green is a great example for all who care about the environment. Earth day is very important to me and I did my part to show my support for a cleaner environment.
I am still trying to find some easy, simple things I can do to help stop global warming. Have you seen the http://www.EarthLab.com is promoting their Earth Day (month) challenge, with the goal to get 1 million people to take their carbon footprint test in April? I took the test, it was easy and only took me about 2 minutes and I am planning on lowering my score with some of their tips.
I am always looking for places to find more tips for living more environmentally friendly. If you know of any other sites worth my time let me know.

For some reason, I thought you were in Vancover. Obviously I didn’t read your profile well. I saw your ad for help with the bicycle move, on Craig’s List ( I think). I wanted to help but was home with the baby. Very Cool idea. I always wondered how moving could be made greener. We are going to look into renting containers for our move to avoid packing tape etc. Anyhow, you blow me away. Awesome project- very well done!

ty for making me rofl, that was hilarious
May 20, 2008 at 8:07 pm
Hey! Thanks for the great info. I was browsing through a bunch of green websites and blogs and I came across yours and found it very interesting. There are a bunch of others I like too, like the daily green, ecorazzi and earthlab.com. I especially like EarthLab.com’s carbon calculator (http://www.earthlab.com/signupprofile/). I find it really easy to use (it doesn’t make me feel guilty after I take it). Are there any others you would recommend? Can you drop me a link to your favorites (let me know if they are the same as mine).

Wow you truly walk or ride your green talk. That move was incredible! Best of luck on your green journey.

That’s great!
You got all this stuoid people to help you and you just played them.
