And the joys of being a homeowner begin with a massive snow dump (Day 338)…

Sorry for the late post today, peeps — A huge snowstorm meant no going into work, but thanks to stupid Bell, the Internet isn’t set up in my new house yet, despite the fact they assured me it would be, so I’m relying on a series of open wireless networks for random bouts of connectedness.

Also, I’ve never ached more in my life, nor been so exhausted.

So for today’s change, in honour of this blizzard and because I now have a porch, walkway and sidewalk to keep clear, I’m going to get a shovel and use the last ounce of strength in my shaking muscles to haul the snow away. No fancy snow blowers, no corrosive salt, no toxic anti-freeze.

The only issue I’m now facing, however, is whether to get a metal one or a plastic one (which would break my no-new-plastic pledge). Are there used shovels on Craigslist, do you think?

Either way, wish me luck! And also, a BIG BIG BIG thanks to all those who helped me move yesterday — Mason, Lloyd, Mary Ann, Mike, Emma, Brandon and Dad. If it weren’t for you, I’d probably be buried in a snow bank right now, lifelessly clutching the leg of my desk chair.
