I just found your blog and have spent this weekend reading the whole thing. It's been really interesting and inspirational. I'm trying to green my own life, and you eco-bloggers are giving me a kick in the butt.

It's actually really easy to make your own ketchup. It's yummier than store bought, and you can make it as sweet or tangy as you desire. Do a web search for recipes, but it's just tomato paste, sugar, vinegar, water & spices. I'm sure it's a bit more of a hassle when you start with fresh tomatoes, but I just use organic tomato paste. Plus you can make it in small quantities which is a bonus for the fridge-free life.

Cornstarch-free yogurt is actually fairly easy to find - you just have to look for the really plain kinds which just contain milk and culture. Or you could make your own.

I have a funny for you that should lighten up times like these when this all may be wearing on you a bit too much. When I was little my mom made her own ketchup and I was oblivious that it was done any other way. I came home from kindergarten to tell my mom the great news one day that they had ketchup AND you can get it from the store. Good times!
