Treehugger posted a while back about incorporating green tips into email signatures, a great idea that I totally forgot about until my beautiful assistant Eva reminded me of it yesterday. Their suggestion was to write something along the lines of, “Eco-Tip: Printing emails is usually a waste.” Fine.
But personally, I don’t know anyone who prints out their emails, so I feel like that’s sort of a lame thing to say. Plus, I’m a writer, for crying out loud — I should be able to come up with something zingier than, “Printing emails is usually a waste.” I mean, come on.
So as of today, all the messages I send from my personal email account, my work account and my blog account will end with something like this:

** Green Tip of the Day: Get your morning coffee in a reusable thermos instead of a disposable cup. And yes, that includes the Grande Extra-Hot Non-Fat Latte With Foam getting cold on your desk right now.
