This whole bubble thing got me thinking, what about bathing our pets. There has been a huge increase in pet groomers and boutiques. Are some greener than others? I’m going to have to research this.

Kind of out in left feild, but I’m always thinking about how us pet owners can make a difference.

I like the spa idea and use it as my justification for keeping my gym membership. A shared-use pool and jacuzzi uses less energy and water than each person having their very own personal one at home. Only drawback? They won’t let me get in the jacuzzi nekkid!

I gotta say, I agree with Greenpa on this one. I often think, I shouldn’t take a long hot bath — think of the water. But I do it anyway, and usually feel guilty. But there is such a thing as joy in life — It’s OK to do some things just for the happiness it brings! A bath with a good book and a glass of wine is one of those things.

But now you have no fridge, no oven, no bathtub, what else? Please keep something that lets your home be a sanctuary to you!!

Please know that I think you are doing a great thing here. I am not criticizing your decision — I am trying to encourage you to keep some of your joys! Life is short!

My brother turned me off of baths forever with one quick comment:

“Why would you want to lie around in a puddle of your own filth anyway?”

And that was that. The visual was just too much for me.

You were a lifeguard? Me too! Glad I’m not, anymore.

I wouldn’t think it would be absolutely necessary to give up baths- absolutely. Why not just cut back- say allow yourself 2 a month, or something? (Obviously I have no idea what your normal rate is- if you’re like my Spice, it would be 3 or 4 a week.)

Happiness is important, too. Something you’d notice is….. the bath! When they’re a special indulgence, their affect is much bigger.

I think, philosophically, “less” is better than “none” – and more acceptable to the unenliightened. Easy for them to say “that’s just crazy talk!”, otherwise.

I was never so into baths myself. But I guess we can add a bathtub to the list of things I don’t have (we are now at no closet, no TV, no microwave, no dishwasher, no AC, and no bathtub).
