		<description><![CDATA[Lights left on make me bonkers. Always have, I imagine always will. I bet even if they someday used no power at all it would still bother me. Hrmm... maybe I&#039;m just old and cranky. 

I googled it not long ago and &quot;they&quot; say that if the fluorescent light is going to be off for more than 15 minutes it is more efficient to turn it off. Presumably less than 10 minutes uses more energy in the off/on process than it would just staying on. See how I naturally rounded that down to 10 minutes =)]]></description>

		<description><![CDATA[My kids still don&#039;t get this totally, although they are better after their recent &quot;lesson&quot; I imposed. Their bathroom has one of those lightstrips into which eight(!!!) bulbs will fit. Every time they left those lights on when they left the bathroom for any length of time (long enough that I would discover it), I removed one bulb, until they had just one bulb left for a couple of days. Sadly, the non-offender (almost-16-year-old daughter) was the one that paid the highest price, so at that point I replaced all eight with CFLs.]]></description>
