Just thought I’d let everyone know: Although I said in my tote bag post that impulse purchases don’t count, I actually have no excuse whatsoever now because I’ve bought a collapsible nylon tote bag that fits right in my purse. So I’m officially done with plastic bags! (Hey, EnviroWoman — do I get a gold sticker? Please?)

I think the nylon bag that fits in your purse is a great idea but I’m thinking EnviroWoman might not entirely approve since nylon is a type of plastic…
Haha, very true JP — Oh well, at least in the long run it means less plastic!
A humongous GREEN sticker is coming your way (way more important than Gold).
JP, I agree a nylon bag isn’t the greatest, but Vanessa still gets kudos….’cuz in the long run it means less plastic.
And more importantly she helps visually spreads the ‘Hey, do your part for Mom Nature and stop using plastic bags’ message to others.
Ya gotta love that.

Vanessa, where did you get your tote? I like my PC tote bags, but they are kind of large for some of my purses. I’ve done really well at getting rid of bags for planned trips like groceries, but keep acquiring these little ones when I buy something on my lunch break or my walk home. And those ones annoy me the most, because they’re too small even to reuse in my garbage cans.

I have the same thing I believe, it stuffs into its own little sack and even has a little clip on it that I can clip onto my zipper pull on the smaller handbag or onto a belt loop if I am bagless. Yeah, cotton totes are better, but they just don’t pack up quite as nice as this one. I have cotton totes that I bring when i’m doing planned shopping, but the nylon one is great for impulse buys.
