Vanessa...Colin...

Something that we've started in Regina is a small group that were calling RationAll. Some of the things we're going to be doing are installing CFLs in peoples out door lights for free (<a href="http://www.onechange.org/" rel="nofollow">Project Porchlight</a>, work with schools, teachers, and the municipal government on initiatives that create action.

We're hoping to get programs like a city managed compost areas, mandatory curb side recycling (transparent in property taxes, even lowering property taxes)...but mainly we want to show people that you don't have to bend over backwards to make better decisions and live a little greener...won't it be nice when we don't have to say "green" for everything we want to do?

If you'd like, I could contact both of you with things that we're doing and how we've gone about organizing them from time to time...If you're cool with that? Also, I would love to be able to take your ideas and initiative and implement them here. We're interested in creating a model that any city or town could implement.

Also, we're trying to keep this efficient and simple, some people (myself included) get a little carried away and you lose the balance in your life...we want this to be low impact on peoples personal lives as well...so it doesn't cause problems for home life!

Cheers,

Vanessa--
Congrats on your Treehugger post. That happened to me yesterday. So much fun!

Hey, how's a guy supposed to contact you. I can't find an email address on your site, so I feel like I'm asking for your phone number in front of the entire high school class, but what's your email address or can you email me? Mine is on my site.

I mean, I'm not asking for your number in that way--you've seen my baby on my site? But I think we should start a coalition or a revolution or something or at least chat behind the scenes.
All the best,
Colin aka No Impact Man

Thanks guys -- and yes, I'd LOVE suggestions. I have no idea how I'm going to rack up 365 of them, so feel free to comment any time with them. And don't worry, Lori, of course I'll still visit your site (I'll probably steal ideas from you, too) :)

i found you on treehuger, and i think what you are doing is very inspiring, and can be applied to so many aspects of daily life - making one small change at a time rather than trying to make one big (daunting) change all at once. thanks!

I saw you on Treehugger =)

Hey, are you all set with enough ideas to hit 365 or do you want us to send along what we think of or have done ourselves? For example, this power outlet turns off all your peripherals automatically when you shut down your computer. Super easy electricity savings and probably pays for itself in the first year.

I think that's an easy one. Anyways I commend your idea and effort and I think I might just read along.
