In stable conditioner (Day 7)…

Shampoo

Wow, a whole week has gone by since I started this blog — only 51 more to go! Yeek… By then, I fear I will have become a full-fledged eco-warrior, posting about how I found this great beeswax for my dreads… the ones under my arms.

Until then: I’m going to insist on maintaining certain levels of hygiene, and when it comes to my side-parted, highlighted, blow-dried and straightened tresses, I demand good-quality conditioner. I’ve been using Kiehl’s Formula 133 for a while now and love love love it, however, despite the fact they don’t test on animals and use wholesome-sounding ingredients like soy protein, the company doesn’t really specialize in natural, organic stuff.

So I’ve switched to Nature’s Gate chamomile and lemon verbena conditioner. I was prepared for it to suck, because so many conditioners do and I’ll recklessly just toss them if they don’t meet my standards.

But lo and behold: it smelled good, went on smoothly, wasn’t too thick or too thin, washed out well and left my locks looking, well, I won’t lie — pretty much the same as they always do. That’s a good thing, though. I’m impressed that this product not only kept my hair in tact, but even managed to tame my brand addiction.
